How it works

You’ve already invested in your rooftop solar array and EV chargers, why not make the most of them? By hosting your EV chargers on SolarCharge, you’ll maximise onsite usage of the solar energy you’re generating by diverting any excess to charging plug-in EVs.

With SolarCharge, plug-in EVs can be charged with the excess solar energy your system generates before the remaining energy is exported to the grid. The energy that goes into the plug-in EVs can be charged at or above your export buy-back rate, to ensure that providing this service doesn’t leave you out of pocket.

You provide discounted charging to your employees, customers and community, and minimise the pressure your excess solar energy puts on the national grid.

Choose to charge your plug-in EV using solar energy generated onsite that would otherwise be exported to the grid. The sun doesn’t always shine, but when it does, you’re lightening the load of your EV charging on both your wallet and the national grid!

And because we know that sometimes you just need to get where you’re going, there is also the option to charge from the grid like other public chargers.

SolarCharge makes EV charging look like seasonal produce - cheaper when it’s locally produced and abundant, more expensive when it’s not.
